Trivia : Item Teasers
Trivia are facts that can be amusing although they are mostly knowledge that we
can do without. Here, we have compiled some of them.

Branch: Subject: Topic:
The average density of Saturn is 0.687 g/cm3 which is less than that of water (1 g/cm or 1000kg/m3).
NOTE: This is because Saturn is made up largely of hydrogen and helium even with a (small) solid core of nickel, iron and rock (compounds of silicon and oxygen). Hydrogen and helium are mostly in liquid form. Liquid metallic hydrogen (1.15 g/cm3) surrounds the core followed by a mixture of liquid hydrogen (0.0708 g/cm3 or 70.8 kg/m3) and liquid helium (0.125 g/cm3). The outermost layer is gaseous. Saturn is the only planet in the Solar System that is less dense than water.
